Fabulous Gift Set!
These are Vintage 90's "used in actual play" pair of matching numbers dice
from The MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Fabulous Las Vegas.
The MGM opened in December 1993, 26 years ago, and before that was the old
Marina Hotel from 1975-1990. In 1989 and 1990 it was actually called the
MGM-Marina Hotel. Ground was broken for the new casino hotel complex on October
7th, 1991.
In 1993 when the MGM opened, it was the Largest single Hotel in the World with
6852 rooms, and the 3rd largest hotel complex in the world. It is the largest
casino in Clark County. When it opened, it had an extensive Wizard of Oz theme,
including the Green Emerald City color of the building and Wizard of Oz Casino
and memorabilia. In 1996 when MGM Grand began it's extensive refurbishment, the
OZ casino was the first to go! Emerald City was completely demolished. When the
MGM Grand opened, the intention was to create the first true destination hotel
in the Las Vegas area by including the MGM Grand Adventure Theme Park. The plan
was to make the Las Vegas Strip more "Family Friendly" that didn't last long,
they closed the Theme Park, and built condos in 2001.
The Marina hotel building still exists as the West Wing of the main hotel
building.
Back to the dice, they are Red and have matching numbers 355, and are in great
condition.
Included is an uncirculated "PERFECT CONDITION" $25.00 Mayweather vs Pacquiao
Casino Chip commerating their fight that they had at the MGM Grand Gardens
Arena. Very Rare, still in the protective sleeve (I just took it out to take
the photo)
