French early C20th antique walnut backgammon game

This solid walnut game would equally at home as an ‘objet d’art’ laid out on
your coffee table - or as a rare playing board for the backgammon enthusiast.
This is a full-size board measuring (open), 72 cms (28”) long, by 52 cms (21”)
wide. The outer surface of the box has a marquetry (inlaid wood) chess or
checkers board. The outer surface of the board shows some wear consistent with
this game's age - but overall it is in good condition (wear is clearly shown in
the photos). I always have a few antique sets of chess pieces or checkers and
drafts pieces for sale which can match these games (please see the section
'Chess Pieces & More'). I will happily waive the additional postage if you buy
the two together - please message me first so that I may do this for you.

The playing pieces are 2” (5cm) diameter and made from French olive wood and
they have a beautiful patina. The two matching hand-sewn leather dice cups have
a wonderful feel and aspect. This set comes complete with two sets of antique
dice.
