Vintage Bakelite 1930's Mahjong Set & Original Presentation-Carry Case,Mah Jong Game,144 Mahjong Tiles,Vintage Tile Game,Bone Betting Chips

Gorgeous vintage bakelite Mahjong set and bone betting chips (counters) dating
from the 1930's-1940's.

This vintage set of Mahjong is contained inside it's original presentation
carrying case which holds all the pieces easily inside. This set has 144
mahjong tiles which have been made from thick butterscotch and burgundy red
bakelite ( catalin) printed and coloured with various symbols across the
fronts,(36 tiles held inside each of the 4 internal boxes), also it has 2 small
bone dice with coloured spots, 68 long thin hand made bone betting chips
-counters in assorted lengths which have all been marked with assorted little
dots in black and red. The case has been made of thick card that has a brown
coloured finish,the lid is attached at the back, a carrying handle attached to
the front, keep closed using a wrap over wide leather belt and clasp fitting.

The case measures 34.5 cm x 22.5 cm x 6 cm (13 1/2" x 9" x 2 1/4").

In good condition for age and use, this set has had a past life and has been
used so has age related wear to the tiles and bone betting chips which is to be
expected, the carrying case is sturdy but does have wear ( see photos) the lid
is still attached to the base but it does have a little movement, the clasp
opens and closes with ease but has no key.
